WhenI turn on my laptop (Acer Aspire ES1-572-31XL) I hear the fans running, hard drive starting, and I see the LED light come on to signify it's on, but I have Getan HDMI cable from Home Depot or Lowes and connect to a TV with an HDMI port. Or connect an external VGA monitor to the VGA port. You may have to press the Fn + F5 or F6 keys simultaneously to toggle the external screens on and off. If you see a screen on the TV or VGA monitor, your video adapter is probably OK.

Pulledout battery. Power reset as Acer suggest. Have power cord plugged with no battery. I've tried to flash bios. Downloaded latest bios from acer site. Put files unzipped on flahs drive (tried formatted as fat and then as fat32) With no battery (and no hdd), pressed FN and ESC, then connected power cord, then pressed power button.
